Local Gem: Chubby’s Cafe

If you’re ever near Pleasant Grove, UT, you just HAVE to stop and try this local gem!

Chubby’s Neighborhood Cafe has been a part of my life for the past 5 years or so. We obviously don’t live anywhere close to Utah, but when we’re there visiting my husband’s family, it is a stop we have to make.

I am not a foodie or anything, but if I’m going to spend money on food at a restaurant, it better taste good. Chubby’s has never once disappointed me and I have never felt guilty about the money spent there.

Chubby’s has moved locations since the last time we visited which is great! The place is much bigger, which can accommodate the many customers they have each day. We hit up the place around 2 pm and it felt like the lunch rush still and had to wait in line that was almost out the door. The decorations are unique and fun, adding to the great atmosphere of the cafe.

The reason we always come back…the beer battered french fries. They are so crispy and good, and combined with their fry sauce, I think I could survive on those two things for a long time! The fry sauce is the best I’ve ever had and almost drinkable it’s so tasty. But instead of drinking the fry sauce, you should actually wash down your food with a yummy milkshake. They are always on point as well.

Since we only get to visit this gem once every year (or longer), we haven’t tried many of the items. But the ones we love are the shrimp po’boy, the blue bacon burger, the pulled pork sandwich and the Philly cheesesteak sandwich.

If you don’t believe me, you should believe the people of Utah County … they voted Chubby’s best casual restaurant of 2017. So if you’re ever close by, or just driving down I-15 heading somewhere else, veer off the path a little and try this stuff out. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
