If you’re looking for a fun place to take your kids this summer, check out Dagg Park! Located in North Kansas City, we hit this park at least once a week during the summer.

The “Spray Ground” is a great alternative to going to the pool because I, for one, do not love taking my children to the pool by myself when none of them have passed their swimming tests! That’s more like a wrestling match, trying to wrangle 3 kids while constantly being whistled at by the lifeguards. And there is plenty of things to do here to keep my kids entertained for hours.

These fun swings are one of my kids’ favorites. There are 3 swings of this variety and 4 other swings. There’s also a huge jungle gym (shown in the background) with a slide that kids literally shoot out of when they are wet. “Watch out below!”

There is also a smaller jungle gym as well as a smaller, separate splash pad area for little ones. And there are a few other little fun things to play with.

The park is completely gated, so while you should still watch your kids (duh! 😂), you don’t have to constantly worry that they might be getting into the road. This park is right on Armour Road in North Kansas City and it’s busy, so having it gated makes it so much better. I have gotten spoiled by this park and now wish all parks had gated playgrounds so I wouldn’t have to look like a helicopter parent!

There are a few different covered picnic table areas and some awnings that are also covered. There is plenty of grass to stretch out on if you don’t get there early enough to grab a picnic table. And there are 2 huge shade trees inside the gates so there’s always some shade you can grab if you get too hot.

I absolutely love this park and so do my kids. Its a win-win.

Hidden gem help: wear shoes on the turf because it gets hot!

The only thing that would make this place better is to have a shaved ice stand close by (anyone wanna bring a Hokulia or Tropical Sno??? Anyone???). It would make a killing, cause this place is always busy in the summer!
